11.9

While it is difficult to quantify each market factor responsible for this situation, few would disagree that a major reason for the increased premiums has been the inability of insurers to accurately estimate the probabilities and financial consequences of future terrorist attacks. Insurers, faced with such uncertainties, frequently have responded either by excluding coverage for terrorist attacks altogether or by increasing insurance premiums by orders of magnitude to compensate for risks they are unable to predict or quantify.

11, 2001,

Since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, it has become increasingly difficult for businesses and individuals to obtain property and casualty insurance at reasonable rates to protect against future terrorist attacks. The lack of terrorism coverage has hampered the construction and real estate industries in many urban markets. This is especially true in New York City, where insurance premiums skyrocketed in the wake of the September 11 attack, in some cases doubling or tripling.

New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CNN) -- The owners of bars, restaurants and other businesses came back Saturday to see what Hurricane Katrina left behind in New Orleans.

They were told to expect military-style checkpoints where just three weeks ago the good times rolled to a jazzy soundtrack.

Returning evacuees were to be asked for proof they own the businesses they want to visit.

The French Quarter, the central district and Uptown will open, but everyone will be under a strict curfew, the city's homeland security chief, Col. Terry Ebbert, said.

The streets will be open until 6 p.m., and business owners will be warned of the possibility of violence, he said.

People returning to the city are advised against drinking tap water and bathing, and will be told that the sewage and electrical systems are not fully functional. Electric service also is spotty. (See challenges people returning will face)

Everyone will have to leave immediately if it begins to rain, Ebbert said. There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, the National Weather Service said Saturday.

The French Quarter, on one of the highest points in the city, suffered power outages but very little flooding after Hurricane Katrina smashed New Orleans on August 29. A handful of people never evacuated and some returned early to clean up.

Faras Canahuati spent part of Friday throwing out the ingredients for baba ganoush and other specialties at his two-month old restaurant.

"I saw [Mayor] Ray Nagin on TV saying he wanted to open up the French Quarter ... so that's why I rushed here today, see what I can do to to clean up," he said.

Nagin said Thursday that the French Quarter will be open for business by September 26.

Canahuati said he was anxious to reopen, for the fun, laughter and "screaming, sometimes" to return.

"It was a good atmosphere," he said.

Jason Mohney, the owner of four strip clubs on Bourbon Street, told Reuters that he saw a unique opportunity ahead.

"It'll be better than ever," he said. "A lot of federal money will be coming in here. Big-time developers will come, too."

About terrorism 3

And how terrorists obtain money? Nothing is for free, fro example pilot course cost many, even if you want to fly only few minutes.. Many of their funds are from other governments, many from thefts, some from people who wants to support them. And many bad things can be done with very few money. For example you can buy fertilizers and oil pretty cheap, and when you know what to do with them, you can get pretty big fireball from even so those simple things. Yes, it wouldnt be so big, so powerfull as it will be from tnt, c4 or semtex, but it still will explode, destroying things in diameter of tens meters. But more damage can do one single eediot who blows himself up in between people in subway, bus or in shop. That is why is so difficult to fight against terrorists. Because they can live like normal people. Until they destroys something, you cannot determine if your neighbour is peacefully living worker or if he hates you and all your people, and is preparing big action. Just lets hope that some day terrorists will lost reasons to kill other people and will live peacefully.

About terrorism 2

We talked last time about why are terrorists doing things they do. It is mostly because they want to draw attention. And what drows more attention that blood all around you? Nothing, thats why they are continuing to blow things up. We said that most of terrorists are idealists who only want to draw attention to their arguments. People from Chechnya are killing Russians because they want Russia to withdraw from their country. Basks in ETA are killing people in Spain, because they want to get autonomy. And this way i can continue long. But how those people obtained their training? Explosives? Money? Ways are different. For example many of Al Quaeda terrorists were trained and equipped by USA, against Russians which were in Afghanistan. But after Russians left, they become to attack Americans as well. And now from former ally are mortal enemies. Many others gained their training in war conflicts around the world, others paid their training lessons in USA or Mexico, where is simple to be trained how to blow something up, how to use weapons, how to kill and not to be killed. Next time end..

About terrorism

What is terrorism? When it becames? Why are people doing so nasty things to themselves? Who are terrorists? Those questions dont have simple answer, but we can try to think about them. Terrorism is to kill as many people as terrorist can, as nasty as he can, to draw attention. Now, but we can say, it is also continuation in way of fighters for freedom, which remained in subdued country. They were killing their opressors one by one. But today, from fighters for freedom they become to be bloody monsters, stained by blood of innocent. But still probably every one of those who are now doing terrorism was once a young ideallist who wanted to change world. Why those men and women became monster? Nobody knows. Maybe because they see how their country is under rule of foreigners. Lets look for example at IRA. IRA is terroristic organization that is proud that they killed some thousand people. They are proud of it, they do it because they want english people and government to leave Ireland. Ireland was entirely under rule of England for some hundreds of years, and they still hates England and dreaming of freedom. It will continue..

Most of looting mobs left shop when they seen camera, but policemen continued to steal. They left shop after they PURCHASED. NBC reporter told: It is shock to see policemen stealing. If that is few days after hurricane, what will be next?
